Glastonbury Little League

Tee League Division

The Home Run Card

The League continues its Field Improvement Fund to support the refurbishment of several fields including the construction of a full size 90ft diamond. The Home Run Card is a major fund-raiser for this Fund.  Each player will purchase two $5.00 Cards along with the $55 registration fee. The player may sell these valuable discount cards and keep the proceeds of the sale. This provides each player the opportunity to participate in the development of facilities which all will enjoy.

Tee League Program: How it works

The Tee League Program is generally for 7 and 8 year old players. This division uses a special baseball designed not to cause injury upon contact  The ball is hit off a rubber tee. Players are assigned to teams with consideration given to balance of ages, special request by the players and school district. Siblings will be assigned to the same teams. There will be a 14 game schedule played preceded by two weeks of practices beginning in the mid April. The season ends at the end of the school year. Games are played twice a week, starting promptly at 5:45 p.m. and on Saturday at 9:30a.m, noon or 2:00p.m. Rain dates will vary this schedule. Hebron Ave Field, Hopewell, Eastbury, Gideon and Naubuc Fields will be used. There will be a Trophy Tournament at Ross Field in early June.

Important Tee League Playing Rules

In an effort to provide equal baseball experience to all Tee League players, the  following rules apply. Players, parents and coaches are urged to take note of the  playing rules.

1. No player shall play one inning more than any other player in a game. Please advise your coach if you are going to miss a game as this rule requires pre-game planning

2. All players are placed in the batting order regardless of whether they are playing a defensive position in the field.

3. The batting order will be set for the season. Players will move up one batting order position with every game with the lead off batter batting last in the next game. This progression continues even when a player may be absent for a game.

4. No player shall sit on the bench for consecutive innings and must play infield for at least 1 inning.

5. A player may only play the pitcher or first base position, not both,  for one inning

Volunteers Needed

Glastonbury Little League is a community activity. It is operated  totally by the efforts of volunteers, donations from sponsors and registration fees. Please help your baseball program by volunteering for coaching, umpiring, publicist, special events, fund-raisers and by staffing the Concession Stand when your player plays at Ross Field.

Equipment and Uniforms

Players will be supplied tee shirts and hats which will be kept by the players after the season. Tees, catchers protective helmet, bats and balls will be provided by the League.

Special Note to Players and Parents

Sportsmanship is the essence of the program, both on the field and in the stands. Positive cheering is encouraged, negative cheering is out of place. Parents and other adults should praise players on both sides of the diamond for any achievement, e.g., a caught flyball should be cause for great celebration! More baseball is learned during practices than in games. Players are encouraged to attend all practices scheduled by the League and the by the coach. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
