The Home Run Card
The
League continues its Field Improvement Fund to
support the continuing effort to improve and build new
baseball fields in Glastonbury. The Home Run Card
is a major fund-raiser for this Fund. Each player will
purchase two $5.00 Cards along with the $45 registration
fee. The player may sell these valuable discount cards and
keep the proceeds of the sale. This provides each player the
opportunity to participate in the development of facilities
which all will enjoy.
Junior League Program: How it works
The
Junior League is designed for 13 year old players,
all of whom must play this League. This League
serves as a transition program to bridge the gap between the
Major League and the Senior League. Players are exposed to a
full size diamond for the first time and more of baseball's
challenges. The pitching mound is at regulation distance
thus affording batters more reaction time. Assignment to
teams is based on tryouts and a draft.
Playing Fields and Times
A 14
game schedule is planned for the season. Games will be
played on weekdays at the Smith Middle School Field starting
promptly at 5:30p.m. Weekend games are also played at this
field. There will be a week of playoff games following the
end of the regular season on or about June 14.
