Rotating the batting order in majors
I heard GLL is thinking about rotating the batting order starting in spring 2007. I think it’s a good idea. Coaches can set the rotating order in the pre-season and set-up a strong order for key games and the playoffs.
There is still strategy involved (which satisfies us coaches) and yet every player gets the thrill and confidence building experience of batting leadoff.

I agree that rotating the batting order is a good idea, giving each player the opportunity to hit in the lead off and clean up spots while more importantly, not being stuck at the bottom of the lineup game after game.
I believe that we will not sacrifice the competitive nature of the game while making the season more enjoyable for the lesser experienced batters.

That would work out great as long as you know what your players’ strengths and weaknesses are at the beginning of the season. If you find out that you have some weaker hitters strung together, you will have some short half innings. It makes learning about your hitters a priority in the spring training practice games rather than concentrating on defensive skills.
