PHEW, what a weekend!!!
3 games, all won/lost by one run, and on the final batter. According to the stats, we're the highest scoring team: 75 runs in 6 games; unfortunately, we've also given up the most runs (81). If we can reduce that second number, we'll start to make some noise.
Our bats are heating up, pitching is a work in progress, but improving, and fielding does need some more work.
Due to the 3 game weekend, we decided to suspend practice this week. However, weather permitting, I know a couple of the boys are itching to have a baseball "workout". Check your email as this is likely to take place on Thursday or Friday, depending on the game schedule (not an official practice). If possible, I'd like each team member to practice on their own- taking grounders and bouncers and throwing across the diamond. If we clean this up by 2-3 plays per game, we will be hard to beat!
This week, our game is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5 at 7PM at Ross (weather permitting).
If it rains, we will likely get another game this weekend.
We are also scheduled for Saturday morning, 9AM at Butler#1.
Keep your eyes on the schedule updates. Have a great week, and practice if you can!
